In the 1950's and early 1960's, before Gary's Auto Parts Inc., there was a junkyard called Dixon's Auto Parts. In 1966 Bob Diefendorf bought the yard from Pete Dixon. Bob, whom Gary had been working for as a mechanic, car salesman, and all around "fix-it" person for the past three years went to work to turn the yard into a used auto parts business. Our total sales for the first week of business was $75.00. We knew we had our work cut out for us! We scrapped every car but one and started fresh.

The first four years Gary pulled all of the parts with the best equipment available which was a tank of oxygen and a tank of acetylene pulled on a two wheel cart with 15" tires on it. Gary would take the torches out, pull the parts, carry the parts up, then get the torches and bring them up. From there Gary went into sales and the business steadily grew.

In 1972 Gary and Shelia bought the business. Since that time, our sales, equipment and facilities have "come a long way baby" and we have remained a family business.

We are very fortunate to have an ever growing, hard working, dedicated team who are caring and willing to share their ideas to improve and grow our business. Our goal is to continually strive to find better ways to serve our customers.

Garys Auto Parts has been serving the Central New York and surrounding areas since 1972. We specialize in automotive recycling, providing both quality new and used parts. We are proud to be a family owned and run business.
